Who We Are

Pastors Eric and Veronica Phillippe

Eric and Veronica met on a fateful choir trip to New Your City in 1989. They married in 1992 and raised a daughter and two sons. From the very beginning of their relationship, God was the central focus. In fact, their first ministry experience together happened before they were even married when they served as volunteer youth directors at Lawrence United Methodist Church at the ripe old age of 21 and 20!!

Eric was involved in youth evangelism through music ministry for about 13 years through Christian hard rock and heavy metal bands Stones Crye and Torn Veil. This led to him becoming a youth director in 1999 at a rural United Methodist Church. After a year of service, he became the youth pastor at a Free Methodist Church and later was hired as a youth pastor at an inner city American Baptist Church. He holds bachelor degrees in philosophy and political science and was ordained by the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis  in 2021. Today, he is the associate pastor at Lynhurst Baptist Church where he leads the worship team, serves as the Men's Ministry leader for the Celebrate Recovery group. He also teaches and preaches as needed. His passion for recovery also led him to get involved in Broken Chains JC, a biker fellowship that exists to promote Christ-centered recovery, in 2018 and is a huge part of his life today.

During this time of ministry, Veronica was busy with her own endeavors. In addition to working full-time AND being a mother and a wife, Veronica has many years of experience as a children's director, a VBS director and a leader in Women's ministry at various churches. She has been the Women's Ministry leader for Lynhurst Baptist Church's Celebrate Recovery since its beginning and her leadership has been crucial to its success.  She was ordained by Lynhurst Baptist Church in 2023 and, in addition to her responsibilities at LBC, currently serves as Vice-President of the Executive Board of the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis.

Eric and Veronica are both involved in the Greater Indianapolis Emmaus Community, where Eric is currently serving as Community Spiritual Director and both he and Veronica serve on Walks as spiritual directors.
